Caleb Anderson says “I’m a pretty big risk-taker. I’m taking the fast track but it’s going to be very hard. That’s what drives me cause I know that if I don’t do this now, this chance is never going to happen again.”

That is why at 12 years old, he is in his sophomore year in college and just got accepted to his dream school— Georgia Institute of Technology.

According to the college’s Twitter post, Anderson would continue studying aerospace engineering when he starts attending school in the fall.

What a genius!

He learned sign language at 9 months, started reading a few months after, solved math problems before he turned 2 years old, and qualified for the MENSA at 3 years old.

Anderson was the youngest Black American male to qualify for MENSA.

But Anderson insists he is not “smart”. He explained, “Number one, there are a lot of people who are smarter than me. And there are a lot of people who work harder than me, so compared to them, I’m definitely not smart.”

But for Anderson’s parents, they knew that he was one of a kind.

His dad Kobi Anderson said that he has always had a hunger and thirst for knowledge. He continued, “As we started to interact with other parents, and had other children, then we started to realize how exceptional this experience was because we had no other frame of reference.”

His mom Claire, on the other hand said that Caleb got bored, was not challenged and said, “‘It’s really not helping me grow in my learning, and I think I’m ready for college.'”

Caleb Anderson also hopes that his experiences at school would help him land an internship with SpaceX founder Elon Musk and Tesla.

But for now, even with the pressure, he is taking it in stride.
