Michelle Zack and her boyfriend went to a Taco Bell drive-thru in Florida one night to grab a quick bite.

But much to the couple’s surprise, they’d end up going home with more than just their order.

While their car was pulling into the drive-thru lane, Michelle noticed something on the ground near the speaker.

“As I was pulling up to the speaker to order, I noticed this tiny black kitten,” Michelle told The Dodo.

Michelle thought numerous other people might have passed by the kitten as they made their order and just went on their way without stopping to help the tiny animal. Michelle wouldn’t be one of them.

“My boyfriend knew I was about to attempt to make friends with this kitten,” she said.

And of course, that’s exactly what she did.

Michelle picked up the small kitten and took him into the car. She put the poor little guy on her lap.

“I got back on track with ordering our food,” she said. “I didn’t know what the hell I was going to do with him at first, but I couldn’t leave him there, especially after him allowing me to pick him up.”

Michelle and her boyfriend took the kitten home with them. They even gave him a cute name — Black Bean.

Michelle’s decision to help the abandoned kitten is a game-changer for Black Bean.

“After I got home, I got in touch with my friend Dani, who runs The Runaways Animal Rescue,” Michelle said. “[That’s] where I took little Black Bean the next morning to get a start on a comfier life.”

They haven’t found out exactly how Black Bean ended up all alone in the Taco Bell drive-thru, but he was surely very lucky Michelle and her boyfriend came along when they did. The couple could just leave him there, but they chose not to.

Black Bean will soon be adopted by a loving family and will have a home of his own. And Michelle is sure the adorable kitten is bound to make a family very happy.

“He is the cutest little kitten,” she said.
