Alexandre Lima has been oversleeping for a week due to his alarm not waking him in the morning. At first, he thought he was deactivating the alarm while asleep, but he later discovered that there was someone else behind it.
After about a week of getting late to work late due to oversleeping, Lima discovered that the real reason why his alarm hasn’t been waking up is because of his dog, Dory.
One morning, as he stirred from sleep, he was able to catch Dory in the act.
“I woke up and saw Dory licking the phone,” the amused dog owner said. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Much to the surprise of Lima and his wife, their dog had figured out how to silence the alarm.
Fortunately, the couple was able to capture the funny moment on video. Lima showed the video to his boss, who thought the whole thing was funny, to explain why he’d been coming to work late for the past week.
“I’m glad I didn’t have worse problems, besides the embarrassment of having to explain myself,” said Lima.
While it was Dory’s fault, Lima doesn’t hold it against the pup. The dog owner suspects that Dory knew that without the alarm, Lima and his wife would stay at home longer. The couple finds their pup’s intention too adorable.
“How could I begrudge her?” said Lima. “Just look at her face. She’s so proud of herself.”
Lima has since begun placing the phone somewhere out of Dory’s reach.
