Pixel started showing just how expressive his face can be when he was about a year old. His mom noticed that he seemed to be always sporting an adorable, toothy smile that was simply contagious.
It was a bonus that he didn’t mind being photographed!
His mom, Alyson Kalhagen, said that she initially wanted to capture photos showing Pixel’s “more elegant, ‘fancy’ side,” but “[he] would smile and make other hilarious faces whenever I tried to take photos of him.”
Eventually, Alyson decided to just go with it and start sharing his “silly” photos too — and they turned out to be a hit!
Pixel soon became known for his goofy smile, which he makes sure to show off during photoshoots.
Alyson simply loves seeing and reading about people’s different reactions to his smile. While most of the reactions are positive, there are still some who find his expressions “unsettling” or “creepy.”
She shared, “Most commonly they say things like, ‘He’s so ugly he’s cute!’ or ‘He looks like a bat!’”
Alyson added, “A few people have mentioned thinking that he was evil or possessed, but in reality, he is just a very expressive kitty who wants a bite of chicken!”
Pixel has no idea and probably doesn’t mind what people think about him and his smile. He simply loves posing in front of the camera and flashing his beloved smile!
