Nemo was part of a stray cat colony when the people who were feeding them noticed his injured leg. They realized that he was in pain, and genuinely thought that the best way to help him was to have him put down to end his suffering.

And so, they brought him to the vet, but Dr. Matt McGlasson decided that Nemo was worth saving.

It turns out that Dr. McGlasson has “a soft spot for cats.” Their clinic has previously “rescued and rehabilitated four kittens” over the past year.

Dr. McGlasson checked Nemo and knew that he did not need to be put down. He only needed healing and a forever home.

Nemo was actually the name that Dr. McGlasson chose for the cat with the help of his TikTok followers.

Nemo’s leg was sadly injured beyond repair, so it had to be amputated. After a successful surgery, Nemo received all the help he can get to adjust to life as a three-legged cat.

Nemo’s sweet personality shone through as he healed. He showed just how grateful he is for everyone’s help.

Dr. McGlasson shared, “He’s the nicest cat you’d ever meet. [He] loves everyone.”

The kind vet wasn’t sure, however, if he can still adopt Nemo himself to accompany his own cats at home. Luckily, one of the vet technicians who fell in love with Nemo decided to take him home.

“[He’s] doing amazing,” Dr. McGlasson shared. “Enjoying being a house cat, and he gets around great on three legs.”

Everyone at the clinic knew that Nemo deserved a second shot at a happy life, so they did everything they could to make it happen.
