Dawson, who has been painting for over 30 years, said he enjoys creating artwork that brings back good memories, such as his wife’s battle with health issues and their frequent visits to a Waffle House in Sorrento, Louisiana.
“Starry Waffles” has garnered attention online, with people recreating the painting themselves and a “sip and paint” event in North Carolina reaching out to Dawson about using it as their inspirational piece.
