Meet Bailey. She’s a sweet and friendly senior dog who has all the motherly love to give.

Bailey was rescued from her previous living situation as a breeding dog. She was likely giving birth to litter after litter, only to part with all her puppies.

She arrived at her new home with Arthur and his family in 2007, and they all moved to the countryside a few months ago.

When they settled into their new place, they quickly realized that there was a feral cat living in the back of the house. So they kept leaving out food, while Bailey frequented the backyard to keep watch.

Arthur and his family didn’t get to see the cat, however, until one day when they looked out the window and found Bailey with a new companion.

The feral kitten found comfort in Bailey’s warm body and nestled among her fluffy fur!

Arthur shared, “Bailey’s never befriended a feral animal before. It just goes to show how loving she is. She’s always been extremely sweet.”

Bailey has earned the kitten’s trust, and so the family welcomed her with open arms and named her Kitten-Kitten.

Kitten-Kitten has since become an indoor cat who “follows Bailey around almost like a puppy.”

“Safe to say she’s a part of the family now,” said Arthur. “Kitten-Kitten is loving being inside and interacting with everyone, but especially Bailey.”

Finally, at 17 years old, Bailey got to fulfill her calling as a mom.

It was also perfect timing, since living outside in the colder seasons could have been a struggle for Kitten-Kitten.

Arthur shared that the pair “couldn’t be more content” in the company of each other.
