Rey Caquias was out on a walk near their Puerto Rico home earlier this month when his kind-hearted Dalmatian, Thiago, spotted an abandoned puppy in dire need. The two ended up going home as a trio!
As they were walking, Rey noticed that Thiago seemed distracted by something off the path and kept going back to it.
Rey shared, “He took a detour into the forest. I started calling him, but he ignored me. That’s when I heard a small bark. Then I looked closely and saw a very scared little puppy.”
The puppy looked thin and seemed frightened. Rey believes that he was abandoned, and worried that he would not survive much longer there on his own.
Rey decided to rescue the puppy. He even got a few injuries on his hand when the puppy bit him out of fear.
When he found a box to place the puppy in, he gave him food and water before transporting him home.
Rey gave the puppy a bath and brought him to the vet for a checkup.
Throughout the puppy’s recovery, Thiago made sure to stay by his side all the way.
It only took a few days for the puppy to be much stronger and healthier, physically and emotionally.
It was all thanks to his rescuers, Thiago and Rey, who have both grown very fond of him.
The puppy also gets along very well with his hero and now big brother, Thiago.
Thiago saved the puppy’s life when he decided to come back for him and rescue him.
In a way, he was the one who made sure that the puppy would be part of their family!
Rey is proud and thankful of Thiago, whom he describes as “a very kind dog.”
“I would never have seen the puppy if he didn’t find him,” he added. “My reaction was one of joy and a lot of pride.”
