If you’ve ever made a huge mistake while online shopping, you may relate to four-year-old Noah from Brooklyn. Noah, a big fan of SpongeBob SquarePants, made the costly mistake of ordering 51 cases of the SpongeBob popsicles on Amazon!

The total cost for more than 900 popsicles was a jaw-dropping $2,618.85.

Noah’s mom, Jennifer Bryant, certainly could not afford to pay that much for popsicles. Unfortunately, Amazon would not accept a return.

So Jennifer, mom of three, asked for help from her fellow New York University students on their Facebook page.

Upon seeing the post, one of Jennifer’s classmates at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work decided to help. Katie Schloss set up a GoFundMe page to ask for donations. She also shared the incident on Instagram, along with an adorable picture of a smiling Noah getting ready to eat a popsicle.

Jennifer also tried to resell the popsicles, but most of them were already melting. They just had no way to properly keep them frozen!

But thanks to the community’s donations, Jennifer’s worries also melted away. They got back the $2,618.85 in 24 hours! And as of this writing, nearly 1,000 people have donated over $23,000.

Jessica expressed her gratitude in an update to the GoFundMe account.

She wrote, “As a parent to a child living with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), all additional donations will go towards Noah’s education and additional supports. We cannot thank you enough. Truly.”

Amazon later found out about the complete story and has since contacted the Bryant family. The company said that they will donate the cost of the 900 SpongeBob popsicles to the family’s chosen local charity.
