An England recycling plant in progress features technologies capable of processing any form of plastic polymer so they can be continuously recycled.

UK recycling firm Mura Technology develops the process called HydroPRS. With this, plastics that are normally meant for landfills or incineration can be reused. HydroPRS can also remove biological material like food scraps clinging to the plastic so recycling won’t be prevented.

This innovation could help in solving the problem brought by plastic pollution.

Wildlife filmmaker David Attenborough is in full support of this development. David, along with other naturalists and owners of the new plant, appeared in a video featuring the tech, Forbes reported.

“What’s so tragic about plastic pollution is that it is so totally unnecessary,” David said in the video released by Mura Technology. “The plastic in our oceans should never have found its way there in the first place.”

With Mura Technology’s project, recycled materials can be used again without becoming chemically unstable. The promising results have led the British government to back the project.

“The Government is committed to both clamping down on the unacceptable plastic waste that harms our environment and ensuring more materials can be reused instead of being thrown away,” said Rebecca Pow, the UK under-secretary of state for the Department for Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs.

“By investing in these truly ground-breaking technologies, we will help to drive these efforts even further, and I look forward to seeing them develop and deliver real results,” Pow continued.
