- She is often seen basking in the sunlight at Jennifer Rutter’s garden, and regularly brings gifts.
- The vixen lately had a sweet interaction through the window with Jennifer’s kitten, Dodo, who was just as curious as the fox.
A little wild fox has become known throughout a London neighborhood, but particularly by Jennifer Rutter.
She has always seen wild animals passing through when she watches through her home’s windows. The fox has been one of those visitors since February.
The wild animal likes to visit her garden daily and bask in the sunlight on Jennifer’s window ledge.
Jennifer shared, “I see that fox nearly every day, and she’s a favorite on our street. The kids watch out for her from their bedroom windows.”
She added that the vixen has shown good manners. She even steps off the pavement to let people pass.
The fox also regularly brings Jennifer little trinkets as gifts.
“I’ve had a bag of moldy limes, lots of chicken drumsticks, a single sausage, a small toy car — bread seems to be a favorite,” she shared.
Everyone had kept their distance from the wild fox, however, until she was spotted by Jeniffer’s kitten, Dodo.
Dodo was keeping her mom company in the home office when the vixen appeared at the window and caught the kitten’s attention.
“Dodo was on my knee, and I pointed the fox out to her. She jumped up to the window and caught the fox’s attention, and then I started to film,” Jennifer shared. “I’ve never seen them interact before, and it was so moving to see them mirroring each other.”
Jennifer shared that the fox, like Dodo, “seemed curious and playful.”
“It was like Dodo had interrupted her, and she was graciously giving the baby cat some attention,” she added.
Jennifer is looking forward to seeing the pair’s future interactions, as well as the vixen’s next presents.
